Statement Recognizing Armed Forces
Day
Casper, WY – Wyoming Democratic Party
proudly extends deepest gratitude to the men
and women who have served their nation bravely
and honorably in the armed forces. Here
in Wyoming, many children look proudly upon
mothers and fathers who once served – or who
continue to do so. And many families
remember the pain of separation that resulted
from the deployment of a loved one. They
have all sacrificed in the proud tradition of
military service – and they deserve our deepest
gratitude.
Armed Services Day is a potent
reminder of our national obligation to extend
our service members not only our gratitude, but
also our support. To that end, President
Obama and Democrats in Congress have worked
hard to ensure that America’s armed forces have
the resources they need – not only on the
battlefield, but also at home. We stand
with the President and Americans across the
country in urging that we continue to fulfill
our obligations to our men and women in uniform
– and that we continue to honor their service
in a manner befitting their
sacrifices.
