Robin Van Ausdall named Executive Director of Wyoming Democratic Party
Tuesday, January 3, 2012
CASPER: The Wyoming Democratic
Party has chosen Robin Van Ausdall to be the
Party’s new Executive Director, according to
Party Chair Chuck Herz.
The selection marks the culmination of a
nation-wide search that began last September.
“Our process engaged many local activists as
well as the Party’s leadership,” Herz said. “We
took all the time we needed to find exactly the
right person.”
Ms Van Ausdall’s professional experience
includes consulting and strategy work with both
candidate and issue campaigns at the local,
state and national levels. Of particular note
is her work as the Northeast Colorado Regional
Field Director for the Democratic National
Committee in the rural counties of Northeast
Colorado.
A self-described “independent-minded Western
Democrat,” Robin’s personal history is woven of
Wyoming fiber and she’s very pleased to be
coming home. “I am proud and honored to be
invited to lead the Party’s professional
staff,” she said. “And I look forward to
working with all Wyoming Democrats, especially
at the county level. My most essential goal is
to help restore our beloved state to the
political balance that would guarantee the best
future for all our citizens.”
Party leaders are especially enthusiastic about
Robin’s regard for the state of Wyoming and
about the depth of her experience in supporting
and developing the most basic party building
blocks: the county parties.
Mary Hales, former State House member, said,
“We are very fortunate to have Robin. She
really knows how to do the on-the-ground-thing,
working with volunteers.”
“I’m excited to have a leader in the state
party with family ties to Wyoming, experience
in the West, and a background in grass roots,”
Pete Gosar, former gubernatorial candidate
agreed. “I look forward to working with
her.”
Robin Van Ausdall’s appointment is effective
immediately.
